Some Lives Are More Equal Than Others

Once again, President Bush promises to veto "the use of federal money, taxpayers' money, to promote science which destroys life in order to save life." Apparently, though, the use of taxpayers' money to destroy life for other purposes, such as capital punishment, pollution or war, is ok with him.

The difference is that the "life" he so desperately wants not to destroy, a blastocyst with no heart, no brain, no mind and no body parts, is only considered human by a few religious people, but the lives he is all too willing to sacrifice are considered human by everybody.
